This week is our official kickoff to a new season. A live broadcast at the Fitzgerald Theater followed by the legendary street dance and meatloaf supper right out front on Exchange Street. On the show this week is the all-star Austin, Texas band The High-Flyers, Cajun crooners Beausoleil, Prudence Johnson, and New York's own Andy Stein. Even if you don't have tickets, come early and listen to the show outdoors and stick around for St. Paul's most anticipated street party with Jack Knife and the Sharps.

This weekend we'll rebroadcast a great show we did out of Charlottesville back in 2003. Virginia-based Americana music masters Robin and Linda Williams were with us, as well as rollicking bluegrass musicians Mountain Heart. Mike Seeger was there, too, playing traditional songs from the rural American South.

This weekend we're headed to Hutchinson, Kansas, for a live performance from the Kansas State Fair. We've invited blues singer Kelley Hunt, plus Cindy Cashdollar on dobro and steel guitar and Elana Fremerman on fiddle. The Royal Academy of Radio Acting will be there, and we'll do the News From Lake Wobegon, too. Join us...

We've been away for a while but we're thrilled to be back, especially for a live show from the Minnesota State Fair. We'll eat cheese curds and chat with the recently crowned Princess Kay of the Milky Way (goodwill ambassador for Minnesota's dairy industry, and fairest of the Fair). The Wailin' Jennys will be there, and so will Andy Stein, Prudence Johnson, and from New Orleans, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. This weekend we're rebroadcasting the kickoff of our 2004 season, recorded live last September at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, with guests Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and Old Crow Medicine Show. What a time it was! Afterward, we hosted our annual Street Dance outside the Fitz, with contests, prizes, and our famous $5 meatloaf supper...

This weekend we'll rebroadcast a show we did a few years back, live from the Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami, Florida. Cuban singer Donato Poveda was with us, alongside Vince Giordano, Andy Stein, trumpeter Randy Sandke and Butch Thompson. And Guy Noir took a flight to Florida!

A few weeks back we asked about your favorite broadcasts of A Prairie Home Companion, and the memories that went with them. My, what a response! We had a wonderful time reading and hearing your stories, and putting together a Listener's Choice show all about them. We'll be playing that show this weekend.

We've been taking a break from touring (to film a movie, among other things), and it's given us the chance to rebroadcast some of our best shows. This week, we'll play one we did a few years back out of the Auditorium Theater in Chicago, with that fine tribute to Buck Owens by the Sones de Mexico Ensemble.
