Here at Prairie Home Companion, we like to bring a little taste of Minnesota wherever we go. So this week, as temperatures plummet and snow falls in New York, we'll be packing extra parkas for our special guests, perhaps the finest traditional Celtic ensemble in the world, The Boys of the Lough. Also on the show, The Hopeful Gospel Quartet will huddle close and fine tune their caroling repertoire, and sitting in with the Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, the always charming Andy Stein. This week, we begin our love affair with New York City all over again from The Town Hall, featuring Grammy award winning soprano Renée Fleming, acoustic guitar virtuoso Kaki King, and the multi-talented ‘Duke of New York’, Andy Stein, so tune in this Saturday for A Prairie Home Companion. We'll hit the town, catch a show, grab a bite, and stay up all night.

This week, we'll motor east to the Michigan State University Concert Auditorium in East Lansing, Michigan. Featuring The Battlefield Band, Jearlyn Steele, Andy Stein, and a special guest appearance by MSU president, Lou Anna Simon.

This week, we'll re-broadcast a hybrid of two shows from November 2004, featuring Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Butch Thompson, Prudence Johnson, and the Thanksgiving Cantata performed by Vern Sutton, Janis Hardy, and VocalEssence. We return next week, live from the University Auditorium in East Lansing, Michigan. Then it's a cool December in New York City, with 4 shows from the fabulous Town Hall on West 43rd.

We're also excited to announce that Robert Altman’s movie, "A Prairie Home Companion" has found national distribution.

This week from the haunted Fitzgerald Theater, we welcome a storm of eclectic virtuosity from Southern California, Nickel Creek. Also on the show Powdermilk Biscuit Band alumnus Adam Granger, singer Prudence Johnson, Andy Stein joins the Guy's All Star Shoe Band, plus an icy touch of the Halloween spirit.

This week from the Fitzgerald Theater, we welcome Canadian singer-songwriters, The Wailin’ Jennys, The Mila vocal ensemble, and the mad musical talents of Bill Hinckley & Judy Larson, Prudence Johnson, and John Niemann. Join us Saturday, right after you carve that giant pumpkin on the front steps.

This week, from the Highlands of Scotland, we welcome the Tannahill Weavers, the choral mastery of VocalEssence,
and renowned Canadian pianist and professor of music, Dr. Elaine Keillor (a distant cousin). Fred Newman will join the Royal Academy of Actors on sound effects as Tom Keith recovers from an unusual voiceover accident.
